Apparently one of the episodes had shown the characters engaging into indecent activities that violated the Electronic Media Ordinance 2015
Yeh Hai Mohabbatein has never failed to entertain the audience and over the years it has provided content of various genres. YHM has taken the audience through suspense, horror, drama, mystery and much more but the most important element of the show is its romance.
However, this does not seem to have gone too well with everyone. In Pakistan, the body that monitors television content is the Pakistani Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA). The PEMRA has set a few norms for television content in their country. Apparently YHM episode that was aired on 1st June had shown the characters engaging into indecent activities that violated the Electronic Media Ordinance 2015.
YHM airs on Star Plus and the channel had earlier been warned by the PEMRA for showing similar content. PEMRA has sent the channel a show cause notice now and if the channel fails to answer them before 18th June, The body will take decisive steps.
We spoke to actor Karan Patel on the same, who said, “It is really sad news. Fans of the show from Pakistan are some of the warmest fans we have and it would be very sad to loose such viewership! I hope things get sorted out and we keep entertaining our fans from around the world.”
