Take a bow, Team Colors and Optimystix Entertainment!!
Well, the heat has been on and the onus to come up with a show bigger than Comedy Nights With Kapil has loomed large!! To top it all, the constant comparisons between Kapil Sharma and Krushna Abhishek, the lack lustre response to the gags of the opening episode, would have indeed created tense moments for one and all!!
But now, the result is out!! And the truth is that Colors has managed to triumph yet again, this time without Kapil Sharma stealing the limelight!!
Yes, the opening numbers of Comedy Nights Live is impressive with the show rating at a high of 3.2 last weekend.
So what is it that has worked in the show’s favour?
Well, first of all, let’s talk of the huge controversy that followed post the exit of Kapil Sharma from his trademark show… Truly, audiences would have certainly wanted to sample the new product.
Secondly, the legacy that viewers followed for the last many years, of tuning in to the channel should have worked in favour of the new show.
And of course, for all those who wanted to watch something fresh and break the shackles of monotony, Comedy Nights Live would have been the best choice..
Talking about it, a source associated with the show told us, “Yes, monotony had set in and people were looking forward to seeing something fresh. And let’s view it like this. The show is not all about Krushna or Bharti; everything about it is new, and has a mass appeal. It is a complete package and it has delivered.”
Getting more into the figures, as per the information we have received, Comedy Nights Live has garnered a viewership ratings of 8.8 million ratings, while Kapil Sharma’s last episode of Comedy Nights with Kapil fetched 4.1 million viewership ratings.
No doubt, a doubled up ratings, and a really good start!!
We tried calling Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh, but did not get through to them.
We tried buzzing the channel spokesperson and also Producer Vipul Shah of Optimystix, but failed to get any response.
So what will viewers want to see now?
Undoubtedly, more of the original gags, away from the ones taking a dig at Kapil Sharma.
Now the onus on the makers will be to sustain and grow the numbers. Let’s see if Comedy Nights Live will live up to expectations
