Actress Aarti Singh’s upbringing is nothing short of a movie. After her biological mother expired, Aarti was brought up by her mother’s best friend. Before passing away, her biological mother had handed Aarti over to the former’s friend, who was also her cousin.
In fact, Aarti’s own brother and actor Krishna Abhishek was one and a half years old at that time.
Throwing more light on this, Aarti said, “I was a premature baby and weak too. So my dying mother, Padma, gave me to her best friend, who was also her cousin Bhabhi. My adoptive mother is from Lucknow, so I was brought up there.”
When we quizzed her if there were any uncomfortable situations when she realized she was adopted, Aarti said, ” I always knew the whole story and I was comfortable with it. I have a brother there too and he’s always loved me like his own younger sister. My mother showered so much love and affection on me that I never realized that I was her adopted daughter. I am blessed and lucky to have her.”
Meanwhile, Aarti’s biological father took care of Krishna Abhishek in Mumbai when she was being raised in Lukcnow.
Taking about him, Aarti adds, “For my father, it was even more challenging because he had to play both mother and father to Krushna. He is a great father, who lost his wife at an early stage, but never remarried. Also, when I was five years old, my adoptive father died and my mother had to raise me on her own. In a way, Krishna never got a mother’s love and I never got a father’s affection.”
Aarti said that her mother was more like a friend to her. “My mother stays in Lucknow and I visit her every two months. She is my God. Moreover, I use Singh as my surname while Krushna, who is actually Abhishek Sharma, uses Krushna Abhshek,” she said.
