Actor Kevin Spacey, who stars as Frank Underwood in the political drama series “House of Cards”, says that television has become a “very exciting” playground for the telling of stories.
“I think that we are going to be discovering over the next 10 years all sorts of platforms and all sorts of ways in which people are going to be telling stories in different ways, in different modes, with different apps, with different systems and different ways to watch it and different ways to discover it and to film it,” Spacey said in a statement.
Spacey also said that the world is on the “precipice” of an “explosive” merging between technology and creativity.
The two-time Oscar-winning actor, who plays the role of a politician in “House of Cards“, said that he has been involved in politics his entire life.
“I believe in public service. I mean, the fact that I play the character of a politician, who audiences view in their own particular way, doesn’t mean that it influences my personal life or my personal views,” he said.
With his “hopeful attitude”, Spacey is also “incredibly optimistic” about what can be done in this world “when people come together and try to achieve something that is really valuable and positive”.
“It has nothing to do with what I do as an actor,” he added.
The fourth season of “House of Cards” will premiere on Zee Café in India this weekend.
