Actor Sammanika Singh is simply enjoying her ‘Jodha Akbar’ journey, given the fact that the youngster is playing a role double her age.
Sammanika essays the role of Zillbahar, mother to Anarkali, and had some special scenes running parallel to Jodha (Paridhi Sharma), soon after the birth of the kids Salim and Anarkali.
Says Sammanika, “It’s been a privilege to work with actors of the calibre of Chetan Hansraj, Paridhi Sharma, Rajat Tokas and others. Yes, I am playing double my age, but it has come as a challenge to me. Zillbahar, the character I portray is completely different from what I am in real life. I am the childish girl with less of maturity coming across on my face. However, I have put in the best of my effort to look real as Anarkali’s mature mom.”
Sammanika has done episodic roles in shows CID, Crime Patrol, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, Adaalat, Shapath, Emotional Atyachaar, Channel V Heroes. “Of the lot, I am even today happy to have shared screen space with the amazing actor Ronit Roy in Adaalat.”
The girl harbours aspirations of making it big in movies too. In fact, she had a nice little cameo role in the movie The Shaukeens. “I have learnt a lot of nuances in acting from the 60 odd episodes experience in Jodha Akbar. I am ready for the next challenges in life as an actor. I would want a meaty role, and of course want to touch base doing movies too.”
Ask her on the genre she will like to experiment with, and she states, “I am ready to do any challenging role. Firstly, I will want to portray my age on-screen.”
Wish you all the very best, Sammanika!!
