Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ goes GLOBAL..!

The show has now a reach in a country not many would assume to be having a reach..

In recent history of Indian television shows, we have seen so often that several shows have not only been successful with the Indian audience but have managed to go global and get popular in other countries too.

And in that scenario, Indonesia has been rather special as several shows like ‘Veera’ and ‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi’ have been extremely popular there.

And now, according to a leading news daily, another show has managed to go global and become popular in a foreign country.

However, it is not just any country and any show, as the show is Ekta Kapoor’s Zee TV show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ and the country is Ghana.

Yes! That’s right. Miss Abena Yiadom, who is the manager of Adom TV Channel from Ghana, recently mentioned that ‘Kumkum Bhagya,’ which is loosely based on Jane Austen’s ‘Sense and Sensibility’ has massive popularity in Ghana and has struck a chord with Ghanaian audience and almost 20% of the national audience follows the show.

She added that the show is currently airing five days a week on the channel from 9 pm to 10 pm and repeat telecast next morning.

Apart from ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, ‘Veera’ is also said to be really popular in Ghana.

It is a great moment considering Indian shows continue to widen their horizons unknowingly.
