Actress Chitrapama Banerjee who shot to limelight with Zee TV’s Maa has been keeping away from the TV circuit for a long time now.
Her last full-fledged work happens to be Ram Milayi Jodi, again for Zee TV. She was signed to play a prime role in Punar Vivaah 2, but the actress opted out of it after some time.
Now, she will get back, in a youth oriented show for Channel V.
Chitrapama has been signed on by Producer Suzana Ghai for her unique fiction show with a slice of singing reality, Ishq Unplugged for Channel V.
As per our source, “Chitrapama will play the role of a professional singer in the show. And that’s exactly what brought Chitrapama back to the acting sphere. Being a singer in real life, the lady was happy to make a comeback as a singer.”
Chitrapama will play a widow, who is extremely passionate about her singing profession. She would be the mother of the female lead, and would have raised her daughter with aspirations of making her a star singer.
When contacted, Chitrapama confirmed the news saying, “Yes, I happened to be a professional singer in real life, and I will be playing one in reel life now. I am excited about this new prospect.”
We dropped a text message to Producer Suzana, but did not get any revert.
As reported by us, Mohit Gaur and Shruti Prakash will be playing the leads in the show.
