The eminent actor and comedian Paresh Ganatra, who has been part of many TV shows and movies and is currently seen in SAB TV’s Chidiya Ghar, is happy with his journey in the entertainment industry.
In a candid chat with Tellychakkar.com, Paresh spoke about his show, journey, personal life and more.
You have been acting since a long time… why have you restricted yourself to comedy genre?
I am known for my comedy roles. I have done many TV shows like Baa Bahu Aur Baby, Comedy Circus, Chidiya Ghar and also keep doing Comedy Nights With Kapil. The best part about my journey is that all my shows have done brilliantly well, and I am proud of them. In future I want to experiment with roles and hope makers offer me something out of the box.
What type of roles would you like to portray in future?
I have played grey-shaded roles in my previous show Baa Bahu Aur Baby, but given a chance I wish to play an out and out negative role.
Being from theater background, what are the changes you see in television shows and plays?
Theater and TV shows have a vast difference. I think theater is more difficult than TV shows. One has to remember all the dialogues and need to have the presence of mind, while TV shows are more about retakes.
According to you, which play should be made into a movie?
Plays which I have earlier been part of have already been made into movies. They are Aankhen, Action Replay and Waqt. The roles portrayed by Paresh Rawal in Aankhen, Rajpal Yadav in Waqt and Akshay Kumar in Action Replay were played by me in the plays.
Who is your favourite comedian?
My favourite comedians are Mehmood sir, Johnny Lever and Charlie Chaplin.
Do you have any regret in life?
I have no regrets in life. I am always ready to face challenges. I have never thought about money being my first priority.
Tell us a little about you and your family?
I am a very simple man living in a joint family. I am an MBA pass out and have worked for Aditya Birla Company earlier. As acting was my passion I moved to entertainment industry. I am a happily married man blessed with one son and daughter.
