Managing time is an art, which applies to all the actors in the industry. Actors usually stick to the idea of ‘staying busy’, which means that they are working hard to be more successful. May be this belief is true to an extent, but sometimes it may lead to thoughtless ‘productivity’. In a candid chat with Tellychakkar.com, TV’s most loved actor Param Singh of Sadda Haq fame, shares his views on the same.
Busy people usually do have a habit of keeping a ‘time diary’ but this cool youngster does not believe in doing so, he says “I like to remain busy so there is no point of maintaining a dairy for it.” Further sharing about his work style, he adds, “I am a true workaholic; I am not a person who sits and relaxes if there is nothing to do. I need something or the other to do, I like to act, move and work.”
Well, he also feels that he works with a team of fantastic co-actors where there is both fun and work. Basically, the actor does not like any sort of distraction in his profession so he chooses to keep his mobile away. “I think twitter and other social media is the biggest distraction at work, so I prefer to keep my cell phone in my room itself or hand it over to any of the asst. director on the sets, “ he adds.
The actor also shared with us his work week schedule, where he works for 12 hrs a day. He gets up at 5:30am, works out in the gym, goes to the shoot , and after pack up, comes home by 9pm ,eats his dinner and then straight to bed. He says, “Taking work home is like working again at home, which I don’t accept, I believe I am a self-motivator.”
Time management is not about squeezing as many tasks in a day. It’s about simplifying the work, doing things faster and reducing stress. In order to replenish and reduce stress the actor prefers yoga and meditation.
Finally, what is your mantra of managing time ? “My mantra is, do it now!”
