Talking about this bright day in his life, Sohan got into an exclusive chat with Tellychakkar.com, wherein he covered lot many aspects of his life.
“It is really heart-warming to receive such an award for the hard work that I have put in over the years. As always said, a reward is a kind of appreciation to the work done, and I feel proud to be honoured by the Central Government of India. Life looks bright for me, as I have been getting offers from the film arena too in addition to my TV work. I would say that after receiving this award, the zeal to work harder and to explore new avenues is now double in me. My aim always is to provide good and quality work and that will continue.”
Sohan also sees this reward as an eye-opener for all in the TV industry, which urges on the need to give due credit and recognition to Casting Directors who work towards perfection in giving the best of cast. “Yes, I am hopeful that the industry will see a good future now with regards to casting people getting their dues. I am lucky to have made this breakthrough. It is always essential that the casting field needs to be considered seriously.”
On his further goals, the casting director said, “I will as always focus on quality work. I want to create awareness in the entertainment sector, by bringing the best of talent from across India. I want to be regarded as an expert in my capability to hunt talent and bring them to the right people and right places so that the industry can have new stars.”
When asked about the show / shows that stands apart in his work, and he averred, “Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo and Pratigya have been the two biggest breakthroughs of my life. The kind of recognition that these two shows gave me has been unprecedented.”
The man with high values stressed about the need to mention about his biggest support system in life. “My mother and brother have been a constant support to me. My father has always taught me one basic thing – be confident in what you are doing and always give your best. I feel it is every son’s responsibility to care of his parents, and I feel with me bagging this reward, my parents have gotten very much happy. This means a lot to me. I will want to tell all that if you take care of your parents, automatically you will turn responsible towards life and will get the capability of understanding what is good and what is bad. This will eventually take you to the threshold of success.”
Sohan feels that the industry will get all the more competitive and a good place to be in, if the content and execution of a show gets stronger. “In today’s time, the casting process is very tough and rigorous. Yes, casting is important for a show’s future, but I would regard that a better content and execution can surely guarantee success.”
Citing the very recent example, Sohan said, “See the case of the recent movie Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo. Critics actually rubbished it and called it a flop. But people who saw it really appreciated it. Even though the movie made a remarkable recovery, it failed to generate huge interest. According to me, the thoughts and ideas presented in the movie do not suit the people of this generation. So it is important to mould according to the time too in terms of execution.”
Sohan, we wish you great luck and success for the future…
