ZEE TV’s upcoming magnum opus classic romance EK Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani has already made headlines with its stellar cast and the promise of unmatched opulence. Leaving no stone unturned in transporting its audiences to the 1940s, the makers of the show are pushing the envelope with regards to meticulous research of the era and production values that ensure authenticity. Staying true to the show’s proposition of #TurnBackTime, the channel has recorded radio spots with the most iconic radio announcer of India, a voice synonymous with the Golden age of All-India Radio – Ameen Sayani.
Ameen Sayani, known for his inimitable style and communicable charm shot to fame all across the South Asian continent with the popular AIR show ‘Geetmala’. He still remains the most emulated and respected radio announcer. With a distinct connect etched in public mind between Ameen Sayani’s golden voice and all things classic, this living legend proved to be the ideal choice for a vintage style radio spot being recorded to promote Zee TV’s magnum opus period drama.
Having been signed on for the very first time by a television channel to promote its upcoming period drama, Sayani says, “ZEE TV is one of India’s finest TV channels – and I’ve had the good fortune of having been quite closely associated with it during its early days. And I was very happy indeed when ZEE TV approached me to record a voice-over for the radio spots of its upcoming TV serial, ‘Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani’. I wish ZEE TV, and its new serial, the very best of success.”
Stay tuned to Ek Tha Raja EK Thi Rani, starting 27 July, every Monday to Friday at 9:30 PM, only on ZEE TV!
