Adaa Khan recently graced the hot seat of the much-talked-about show on MX player, Candid Yaari by Mahreen Khan. The actor shares having a wonderful time on the show, which is inspired by Vogue’s popular format, 73 Questions.
“It felt good to be a part of Mahreen Khan’s Candid Yaari. Such informal chat shows are always interesting. You feel comfortable and it becomes easier to open up. So it was quite fun. Mahreen is a good host, she makes you comfortable,” says Adaa, known for TV shows, Amrit Manthan, Naagin and Vish Ya Amrit: Sitara.
The actor feels chat shows in general are a focused way of presenting a personality. “When you go on a chat show you are mentally prepared to express yourself honestly. Adding to that, the concept of Mahreen’s show was good. I would like to be a part of more such chat shows,” she adds.
Over the years, many actors have dabbled into anchoring and have been successful. Mahreen too is an actor.
Ask about her plans of taking up anchoring in coming times and Adaa shares, “Anchoring is a different kind of an experience, where actors are present as who they really are. Salman Khan anchoring Bigg Boss and Amitabh Bachchan hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati are examples of how one can excel in the format. They’ve hosted their respective shows so well that one can’t think of visualizing anyone else in their place. If at all I plan to take up anchoring prominently, I also plan to improvise and work on it well. Acting and anchoring are two different things and both have their pros and cons. I can’t talk about the future, but right now I am concentrating more on acting.” Adaa of late has been keeping a low profile and her fans are waiting for her to return to TV screens soon.
